Photo Contest FAQ

 

1. Who can enter?

 

The contest is open to women photographers worldwide, ages 18+. You do not need to be a member of Women’s Photography Circle to enter.

Past contest winners may enter again.

Women’s Photography Circle moderators may enter as long as they are not serving as judges for the current contest.

Judges are not eligible to enter.

 


2. What are this year’s categories?

 

Wildlife • Landscape • Macro • Portrait 

You may enter multiple categories.

 


3. How many images can I submit?

 

 

There is no limit to the amount of images you may enter. Each image requires a separate entry fee.

 


4. What are the image requirements?

 

 

  • File size: Images must be under 10 MB.

  • Recommended sizing: We recommend exporting your image to 2000 pixels on the long side for best balance of quality and upload speed.

  • No watermarks or branding: Submitted images must not include watermarks, logos, signatures, website URLs, social media handles, or branding of any kind.

  • No digital frames or borders: Please do not add decorative frames, borders, or graphic overlays.

  • File format: JPEG

AI-generated images are not permitted. 

 


5. How are images judged?

 

 

Images are judged blindly based on:

  • Technical skill

  • Creativity

  • Composition

  • Emotional impact


6. Do photographers retain copyright?

 

Yes. You retain full copyright to your images.
By entering, you grant Women’s Photography Circle permission to share submitted images for contest promotion with credit.

 


7. How does this contest support the grant?

 

A portion of all entry fees helps fund the Women’s Photography Circle education grant, supporting women photographers in their growth.

 


8. When do entries close?

Submissions Close: 4/10, 7 PM CST. Late submissions cannot be accepted.
